for multi-unit housing applications. Below you will find detailed cabinet construction specifications for
our HUD Cabinetry. Please contact us today for your current and upcoming projects.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Wall & Base Cabinets: Cabinets will be manufactured of all
wood with no particle board using the materials herein
specified. All materials and construction meet Severe HUD
Specifications.
Face Frame: Face frames are ¾” x 1-½” solid hardwood.
Mullions are ¾” x 3” solid Hardwood. Frames are mortise and
tenon construction reinforced with glue and nails. Frames are
dadoed to receive cabinet ends, top, and bottoms.
End Panels: Exposed end panels are ½” thick hardwood
plywood. All end panels are dadoed into the face frame and
recessed 3/16”. Unexposed end panels are ½” thick softwood
plywood.
Shelves: Shelves are ½” thick hardwood plywood dadoed into
the sides. Edge banded with matching wood tape.
Top & Bottoms: Tops and bottom panels are ½” thick
softwood plywood. Tops and bottoms are dadoed into the face
frame and end panels.
Backs: Cabinet backs of ¼” softwood plywood shall be
attached to ¾” x 3-½” softwood lumber hanging strips which
shall be mortised to receive backs and bottoms.
Color Option: Medium Oak available for immediate delivery,
other colors available upon request.
Doors: Doors of ¾” hardwood plywood with exterior glue shall
have reversed bevel edges to form a continuous finger grip
around sides.
Countertops: Countertops shall be fully post formed type with
high pressure laminate with plywood decking.
Drawers: Drawer fronts are constructed like doors.
Drawer Boxes: Drawers shall be constructed with sides and
backs 11/16” thick solid lumber. Drawer boxes are dovetail
joined. Bottoms are ¼” softwood plywood dadoed into all four
sides.
Hanging Strips: Hanging strips are ¾” x 3-½” softwood
lumber dadoed to receive tops, bottoms, sides, and backs.
Hinges: Hinges are heavy duty, self closing, semi concealed
type.
Drawer Slides: Drawer slides are ¾ extension, 75-pound
capacity, metal epoxy coated, ball bearing slide, side mounted.
Finish: Exposed surfaces and interior of cabinets shall be
factory finished consisting of stain, sealer, and varnish coats
lightly sanded between applications. Low maintenance and
easy care.
