AMERICAN TRADITIONS SEVERE USE LINE
SLAB PANEL SEVERE USE
1. Face Frames
Face frames are ¾” X 1 ¾” solid hardwood. Mullions are ¾” X 3 solid hardwood. Frames are mortise and tenons construction reinforced with glue and nails. Frames are dadoed to receive cabinet ends, top, and bottoms.
2. Top and Bottom Panels
Top and bottom panels are ½” thick multi-ply birch hardwood plywood. Tops and bottoms are dadoed into the face frame and end panels.
3. Toe Kicks
Toe kicks are ¾” thick pressure treated solid lumber.
4. End Panels
End panels are ½” thick multi-ply hardwood plywood. All end panels are dadoed into the face frame and recessed 3/16”. Unexposed end panels are ½” thick hardwood plywood.
5. Shelves
Shelves are ¾” thick multi-ply birch hardwood plywood dadoed into the sides. Edge banded with matching hardwood veneer edge banding. Meets or exceeds HUD severe use.
6. Back Panels
Back panels are ¼” thick multi-ply birch hardwood plywood. Attached to ¾” X 3 ½” softwood lumber hanging strips which shall be mortised to receive backs and bottoms.
7. Doors
Doors are ¾” hardwood plywood with exterior glue. Reverse beveled edges to form a continuous finger grip around sides. Doors shall have wrap around self-closing hinges.
8. Hinges
Hinges are heavy duty, self-closing, semi-concealed type.
9. Drawer Boxes
Drawer boxes are constructed with sides and backs 11/16” thick solid lumber. Drawer boxes are mortised and tenoned into front. Bottoms are ¼” hardwood plywood dadoed into all four sides.
10. Drawer Slides
Drawer slides are ¾” extension, heavy duty 75 pound capacity, epoxy coated, nylon roller slide, with metal rear mount

11. Hanging Strip
Hanging strip is ¾” X 3 ½” softwood lumber dadoed to receive tops, bottoms, sides and backs. Upper base hanging strips are ¾” X 6 ½” softwood lumber.
12. Base Corner Braces
Base corner braces to be continuous 3/2″ X 1 1/2″ hardwood strips.
